Rescue Roast® Hot Chocolate Baked Oats
Warm, chocolatey, soft in the middle and somewhere between breakfast and cake.
If you love overnight oats but sometimes want something warm and comforting instead, these Rescue Roast® Hot Chocolate Baked Oats are a very good answer.
They are easy to prepare, made with simple ingredients, and bake into a soft, rich breakfast that feels far more indulgent than an ordinary bowl of oats.
Think of it as breakfast wearing a chocolate-cake disguise.

- 1 ripe banana

Allow it to cool for a few minutes before serving.
Make It Gooey in the Middle
If you prefer your baked oats a little more dramatic, press a few blocks of chocolate into the centre before baking.
Cover them gently with the oat mixture and bake as normal.
When you cut into the middle, you should find a warm, melted chocolate centre.
Breakfast has officially become much more interesting.
Chocolate & Peanut Butter Baked Oats
Chocolate, banana and peanut butter work beautifully together.
Add approximately 1 tablespoon of peanut butter to the mixture before baking.
You can also spoon a little extra peanut butter over the top once the oats come out of the oven.
Add banana slices and a few chocolate chips and you have a very convincing breakfast.
Rescue Roast® Mocha Baked Oats
For the coffee lovers, replace approximately ¼ cup of the milk with strong brewed Rescue Roast® coffee.
The coffee adds a subtle mocha flavour and deepens the chocolate notes beautifully.
Serve with another cup of Rescue Roast® coffee if you believe mornings deserve proper commitment.
Add Your Favourite Toppings
One of the best things about baked oats is how easy they are to customise.
Try topping yours with:
- Fresh berries
- Banana
- Chocolate chips
- Chopped nuts
- Peanut butter
- Greek yoghurt
- Whipped cream
- A drizzle of honey or maple syrup
Or simply eat it warm from the baking dish with a spoon.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with that approach.
Breakfast or Dessert?
That depends entirely on what you put on top.
Serve it with fresh fruit and yoghurt and it makes a delicious breakfast.
Add vanilla ice cream, chocolate sauce and whipped cream and things start moving firmly into dessert territory.
We consider that versatility.
250 g or 500 g?
Rescue Roast® Hot Chocolate is available in both 250 g and 500 g bags.
The 250 g bag is ideal for enjoying as a drink and experimenting with a few Academy recipes.
But if Rescue Roast® Hot Chocolate has become a regular ingredient in your breakfasts, baking and desserts, the 500 g bag may prove much more practical.
A Better Bowl of Oats
Oats do not have to be boring.
Add Rescue Roast® Hot Chocolate, banana and a few chocolate chips, bake everything until warm and soft, and suddenly breakfast feels suspiciously like cake.
Which is exactly the kind of breakfast development we support.
