Rescue Roast® Signature Blend Tiramisu

Rescue Roast® Signature Blend Tiramisu

Rich, creamy, coffee-soaked and dangerously easy to love.

Tiramisu is one of those desserts where the coffee really matters. Because it is such a central part of the flavour, this is exactly the kind of recipe where a smooth, balanced coffee like Rescue Roast® Signature Blend gets to do what it does best.

No syrups. No artificial coffee flavouring.

Just proper brewed coffee, creamy mascarpone and layers of indulgence.

Ingredients

For the Coffee Layer

  • 250 ml strong brewed Rescue Roast® Signature Blend coffee
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons coffee liqueur, Amarula or brandy — optional
  • Approximately 200 g ladyfinger biscuits

For the Mascarpone Filling

  • 250 g mascarpone cheese
  • 250 ml whipping cream
  • 60 g icing sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For Finishing

  • Unsweetened cocoa powder
  • Dark chocolate shavings — optional

Method

1. Brew the Coffee

Prepare approximately 250 ml of strong Rescue Roast® Signature Blend coffee.

While the coffee is still warm, stir in the sugar until dissolved.

Add the vanilla extract and, if you are making an adults-only version, your choice of coffee liqueur, Amarula or brandy.

Allow the coffee to cool completely.

2. Make the Mascarpone Filling

Place the cold whipping cream into a large mixing bowl and beat until soft peaks begin to form.

Add the icing sugar and vanilla extract and continue beating until the cream holds its shape.

In a separate bowl, gently stir the mascarpone until smooth.

Fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone a little at a time.

Mix gently until you have a smooth, thick and creamy filling.

Do not overmix.

3. Dip the Biscuits

Pour the cooled coffee mixture into a shallow bowl.

Quickly dip each ladyfinger biscuit into the coffee.

The biscuits should absorb some of the coffee without becoming completely soggy.

A quick dip on each side is usually enough.

4. Build the Tiramisu

Arrange a layer of coffee-dipped biscuits in the bottom of your serving dish.

Spread half of the mascarpone mixture evenly over the biscuits.

Add another layer of coffee-soaked biscuits.

Finish with the remaining mascarpone mixture.

Smooth the top with the back of a spoon or spatula.

5. Chill

Cover the tiramisu and place it in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours.

For the best texture and flavour, leave it overnight.

This gives the biscuits time to soften and allows the coffee, cream and mascarpone flavours to come together beautifully.

6. Finish and Serve

Just before serving, dust the top generously with unsweetened cocoa powder.

Add dark chocolate shavings if you want to make it a little more indulgent.

Slice, serve and enjoy.

Rescue Roast® Tip

The coffee is one of the most important ingredients in tiramisu, so this is not the place for weak coffee.

Brew your Rescue Roast® Signature Blend slightly stronger than you normally would.

You want enough coffee character to come through the creamy mascarpone without making the dessert bitter.

Make Individual Tiramisu Cups

This recipe also works beautifully as individual desserts.

Instead of assembling everything in one large dish, layer broken coffee-soaked ladyfingers and mascarpone cream into small glasses.

Finish each glass with cocoa powder and a few dark chocolate shavings.

They look impressive, require no slicing and are perfect for entertaining.

Why Signature Blend Works So Well

Rescue Roast® Signature Blend is smooth, balanced and full of character without being overpowering.

That makes it ideal for a dessert like tiramisu.

The coffee adds richness and depth while still allowing the mascarpone, cocoa and chocolate flavours to shine.

It is a perfect example of what we love about cooking with coffee:

The coffee doesn't have to pretend to be dessert. It simply makes the dessert better.
