About Dullstroom Bird of Prey and Rehabilitation Centre

Dullstroom Bird of Prey and Rehabilitation Centre is far more than a sanctuary — it’s a place of learning, healing, and second chances. Unlike entertainment facilities, their mission has never been about spectacle. Instead, they put the wellbeing of every bird and animal first, creating an environment where education and care walk hand in hand.

Run by a small, passionate team who feel more like family than colleagues, the centre combines expertise in Nature Conservation, Wildlife Rehabilitation, Captive Animal Management, and Falconry. Their work spans across education, rehabilitation, captive breeding, and release programmes — each one aimed at protecting South Africa’s magnificent raptors and other indigenous wildlife.

At the centre, flight demonstrations aren’t just for show — they are vital for fitness and rehabilitation, preparing birds for their return to the wild. Those who cannot be released still take to the skies for their health, becoming ambassadors for their species and powerful messengers of conservation.

With every visit and every cup of coffee brewed in their name, the Dullstroom Bird of Prey and Rehabilitation Centre continues its mission: to give raptors and other wildlife the care they deserve, the second chances they need, and the respect they have always earned.
