The Society for Animals in Distress
The Society for Animals in Distress (SAID) provides professional veterinary care to pets and working animals in low- to no-income communities, helping families access treatment that may otherwise be out of reach.
From its Midrand veterinary hospital and equine care centre to a fully equipped mobile clinic, SAID combines hands-on treatment with outreach into communities including Tembisa, Olievenhoutbosch, Diepsloot and Ivory Park.
Their work also places strong emphasis on animal-welfare education, responsible care and the connection between animal wellbeing, human wellbeing and healthier communities.
